Last month I finally checked out The Lawn on D. For anyone that isn’t in the Boston area, this is essentially a fenced in city block of outdoor play space for all ages. There is a big tent that hosts musical performances and a bar, there are food trucks, ping pong tables, adirondack chairs, Jenga tables, DJs, the coolest swings you’ve ever seen and rotating art exhibits. Now that we have The Lawn on D, I’m wondering why someone didn’t think […]

With Summer in full swing, it’s easy to sit around and day dream about what my coastal-chic beach house would look like. Depending on the day, I vibe clean, white, minimal Miami styles and other days I vibe softer, cozier Nantucket interiors. See below for some Summer inspiration for the cottage, lake or beach house. I love how open and airy this space feels. The white furniture offers multiple seating groups, for an uncluttered look while preserving the views of […]

Isn’t this sculpture incredible! It’s a massive aerial, sculpture made of rope and created by famed Janet Echelman and it’s suspended over the Rose Kennedy Greenway here in Boston. You can read more about the sculpture here. This photos doesn’t do it justice. You really need to see it in person to appreciate the scale and just how high up in the sky it is. The way it changes from day to night and the movement are incredible. I read an […]

This was my second NeoCon and each year this show gets better and better! There were so many people buzzing around Merchandise Mart for three full days of fun, taking in all of the displays, innovative furniture and incorporated technology and trends. There were many Workplace displays drawing big crowd of spectators. Lots of pieces combined growing technological needs seamlessly with functional elements. Fresh new colors and patterns were visible in fabrics, solid surfacing and laminates. There were also lots of neat, eco-friendly […]

We are currently going through a very small renovation. Over the next month or so as our HVAC unit is being replaced, and that means everything is upside down and we’re out of sorts. Everything is covered in plastic, yet somehow there is dust in everything, I can see up to the floor above and down to the floor below through a massive hole. (Okay, that part is kinda cool). Oh and they’ve demolished a wall so everything is very open […]

One of my favorite styles. Simple, timeless and restrained. The Parsons table is uber functional and versatile. This style is said to have come from a 1930’s project in the Parsons School of Design, where Jean-Michel Frank tasked students with creating a basic table that when covered in any material would retain its integrity and remain desirable. I’m assuming the students all got A’s. Regardless of existing decor or style, you can always count on a Parsons table to blend in. They are useful in just about […]

Wow, what a night!! Another fantastic and successful ASID Spring Gala is in the books and dare I say it was the best one yet?!! It was such a fabulous, sold out evening at the Moakley Courthouse! As people entered the courthouse a massive, freestanding ASID logo and vignette provided by friends at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams greeted them. After people took photos at the Vignette things really got started with cocktails on the mezzanine overlooking the banquet area and […]
