Ladies and gentleman. Shopaholics and DIY-ers. Brace yourself, because this weekend Faneuil Hall is about to change.
Crate & Barrel is closing down.
Furnishing downtown Boston, for roughly 30 years with slipcovers, throw pillows and coffee tables. It’s understandable if the nostalgia is kicking in for some shoppers. After all, Faneuil Hall was the Chicago chain’s first East Coast store.
This decorators haven, informed customers of the impending closure via email earlier this month. Since the announcement, the store has discounted most merchandise on the main level and closed a portion of the second. If you’re a Faneuil Hall regular, not to worry; there are many bigger locations scattered around the city. Just check the website for details.
All this talk of closure begs the questions what’s next? No announcements have been made, but surely Faneuil Hall will find a cool, new lessee to inhabit the 13,000 sq. ft. space.
