The Powermat….One plug. One mat. Many devices.

I recently came across the Powermat USA, which is a joint venture between HoMedics and Powermat, Ltd. They have created a product that allows consumers to break free from the shackles and tangles of powercords and other such wires by charging numerous devices on a high tech, ultra thin charging mat.

1. Simple and sleek. The Powermat can be customized to suit your individual needs, from the number of wireless ports to the size of the mat. Aesthetically speaking, it’s attractive, thin and just plain cool whether it sits on your desk, or is embedded on the wall.

2. A must have. We all know the hassles of untangling charger wires, losing chargers or simply not having enough wall outlets for all of the devices that keep us connected 24/7. This little mat will alleviate these stressors by allowing multiple devices to charge simultaneously and all from one outlet! Not only will you be safer by not overloading your wall outlets, but you will also improve your sanity by not having to search for chargers or power converters.

3. Beautiful benefits. It’s portable, charges devices quickly and allows you to travel easily. Using some cool technology, the company promises that all of your favorite devices, such as iPhones, BlackBerry’s, MP3 players, cell phones, headsets, hand held electronic games, digital cameras, and GPS units will be compatible. While that all sounds great, the Powermat is also committed to being eco-friendly. It’s energy efficient, saves electricity, reduces reliance on batteries. At a time when we’re all trying to reduce our carbon footprint, this seems like it would be a great addition to any home.

I’m looking forward to the Fall when the Powermat becomes available in stores.
